Joining or attending the Castleberry Hill neighborhood meetings is a great way to get involved in the neighborhood, meet neighbors and learn about neighborhood issues. The meetings are the 3rd Monday of the month at 7 PM, and are generally upstairs in No Mas! Cantina (180 Walker St), but check the website for details - meetings sometimes get moved when they fall on holidays.

Dead trees that are on the public right-of-way (basically street/sidewalk trees) can be reported to the city. The city Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) has an Office of Parks that will come out and make an assessment to make sure the tree is in the right-of-way and is dead. They will mark it with red spray paint. Then a crew will be sent out to remove it. The process can take 1-2 months before the evaluation, and it can take more than a month between the red paint and the actual tree removal. To report a tree like this, call the city DPR Office of Parks customer service line at 404 546-6813 to start the process. You will need to know the street address, and they will want to know your name and phone number. You do not have to live at the address to report a tree like this.
